Postdoctoral Fellowship in Digital Liberal Arts, Middlebury College (Vermont)

Middlebury College invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Digital Liberal Arts, beginning July 1, 2014. This 12-month position is available for one year, with a second year contingent on funding. We welcome candidates who hold, or will hold by June 2014, a PhD in any discipline relevant to the Digital Humanities.

The Postdoctoral Fellow is a key position in a new initiative in the Digital Liberal Arts at Middlebury College. We seek a creative and technically skilled person to promote the use of digital technologies and resources for humanities research and teaching. The ideal candidate will be familiar with a variety of digital methods, have experience with collaborative digital scholarship and a proven record of teaching at the college or university level, and be aware of issues at the intersection of digital scholarship and pedagogy. The Fellow will work closely with a team of faculty, library staff, and research and curricular technologists to help develop and support the College’s vision for incorporating digital technologies in innovative, collaborative research. We particularly seek candidates with expertise in textual technologies such as text mining, text encoding, topic modelling, digital indexing, and digital publication. The Fellow’s responsibilities will include organizing and participating in digital training workshops, consulting on faculty projects, helping develop a speakers program, following trends in the Digital Humanities, and pursuing their own research.

Review of applications will begin April 1, 2014 and will continue until the position is filled. See full details here.
