Postdoctoral Fellowship in Digital Humanities, University of Virginia School of Law

The Arthur J. Morris Library of the University of Virginia School of Law invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in Digital Humanities beginning September 1, 2014 and ending August 31, 2015. Fellows may apply for an additional year at the discretion of the Library.  The fellowship provides a stipend of $45,000 plus health insurance.  We welcome candidates who have received a Ph.D. in any humanities field no earlier than 2011.  Applicants for the fellowship must have been awarded their Ph.D. by the time of application or furnish proof that all documentation required for the Ph.D. has been submitted to the institution by July 31, 2014.

Candidates must have experience in archival methods, digital collections management, and historical research.  Candidates are especially encouraged to apply who have experience in database design and website development. The fellow will work to further the Librarys mission of preserving and interpreting the history of the School of Law and legal education through archival digitization and web-based public history exhibitions.  The fellow will attend relevant library and technology conferences with the expectation that he or she will develop workshops and presentations that contribute to the scholarly community.
