Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Digital Media Production, Montana State University

The School of Film & Photography at Montana State University-Bozeman seeks an energetic and broad-minded colleague with expertise in Digital Media Production, ideally with demonstrated abilities in both traditional production and digital/web/interactive media. This person will have a special interest in the application of progressive media to storytelling and creative expression on the graduate degree level. This is a full-time, tenure-eligible position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching: Successful applicants will be expected to:

  • Demonstrate teaching effectiveness on both the graduate and undergraduate level.
  • Advise students.
  • Serve on graduate thesis committees. Participate in program and curricular development

Research: Successful applicants will be expected to:

  • Maintain a program of relevant research and/or creative activity .
  • Secure external funding for creative work and special projects.

Service: Successful applicants will be expected to:

  • Participate in program assessment.
  • Serve on school, college and university committees.
  • Contribute to recruitment, retention and outreach activities.

Required Qualifications: 

1. A Ph.D. in a media, science or technology related field.

2. Demonstrated ability to teach subject matter related to science communication.

3. Interest in and dedication to undergraduate instruction and graduate teaching at the MFA level.

4. Evidence of a relevant on-going research agenda.

5. Evidence of successful college-level teaching.

6. Interest in interdisciplinary program development and innovative course delivery.

7. Interest in and evidence of potential for securing external grants and funding.
