Assistant Professor in Public and Digital History

The History Department at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is seeking to make a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor with primary fields in Public and Digital History. Applicants must have a clear research agenda demonstrated by publications, public scholarship, and/or digital products, as well as promise of excellence in teaching. Teaching responsibilities will include courses at the graduate level in public history and digital history, and may also include museum studies, local history, oral history, and courses in the candidate’s secondary field of interest. We expect the new appointee to play a leading role in the department’s large and long-standing MA in Public History, contribute to the department’s PhD program, help shape the department’s growing digital presence, and link with other digital humanities scholars across campus.

The succesful candidate must possess a PhD, or be ABD with degree expected before August 2017.
